Purus Research in India

The name “Purus” is derived from ancient Indian Vedic literature on the tribe ‘Purus’, which also included the ‘Bharatas’, named after whom is the country of Bharat that is India. The world’s most populous nation is also the principal promise for its prosperity and peace. Purus Research positions itself at the heart of India’s flourishing seeks to leverage and deepen the country’s capacity in sustainable and emerging technologies to facilitate an exchange of capabilities, opportunities and multifarious growth.

The founders of Purus Research, as early investors, exposed themselves to Indian equities in 2022. Since, they have only sought to amplify their Indian equities portfolio by reigning in small, medium and large companies across the totality of the Indian industry and markets. The founders of Purus were two steps ahead as learners than investors about India, its rich history and heritage, and the gargantuan transformation underway that is empowering more than a billion people. They observed the Indian ingenuity that is set to multiply tremendously as more and more people are brought into the ambit of financial inclusion, enterprises emerge and professional profundity explodes across industries. Contemporary developments in India are in stark contradiction with the state of the world that is experiencing a tumultuous recovery from the pandemic, major wars in Europe and the Middle East that have exacerbated supply chains of vital industries and led to crises of food insecurity, and mass immigration inter alia. However, this is also the world in which pioneering technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing that demonstrate illimitable potential across all sectors of socio-economic life are rapidly emerging. India, brimming with fact-based optimism, exhibiting unparalleled stability, international responsibility, and a spirit of tenacity, is the right place for the world to safely and securely advance and nurture its most critical emerging technologies and concepts.

Over 80% of Purus Research’s initial investments are in India and we are committed to scaling the figure both in real terms and as a direct proportion of all investments in the times to come.
